The Human Trafficking Gang Investigator Certification Course will be offered on Monday, July 10, 2023, prior to the start of the GGIA 2023 Summer Conference in Athens, Georgia.
This certification class will train gang investigators in the following areas:
- Victims of Trafficking and Prevention Act (Federal law)
- GA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Law, O.C.G.A. § 16-5-46
- Intersection of HT & Gangs
- Mastering the Human Trafficking & Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act
- Understanding Victimization and Gang Affiliation
- The Trafficker’s Recruiting Techniques
- Best Practices of HT & Gang Investigative Techniques
This certification class is open for all GGIA members who have successfully completed the Basic Gang Investigator’s Certification Course.
Note: Those GGIA members who have successfully completed the Intermediate Gang Investigators Certification Course will be given priority during the registration process.
The Human Trafficking Gang Investigator Certification Course is an 8 hour GAPOST-eligible training event with a 40 question final exam. Students must achieve 70% on the final exam to receive the GGIA certification. The class size will be limited to 50 attendees. There will be required reading material provided to attendees 14 days prior to the class. These reading assignments will contain material that will be part of the final exam.

The Board of Directors of the Georgia Gang Investigators Association (GGIA) has approved the implementation of an Intermediate Street Gang Investigator Certification for its members. The certification course will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Classic Center, Athens, Ga. 30601.
Personnel applying to obtain a GGIA Intermediate Street Gang Investigator Certification must meet the following criteria:
Have successfully completed the BASIC Certification Course
Be a member in good standing of the GGIA
Registration and payment required in advance
Pay a tuition cost of $100.00
A laptop will be required to complete the training
Attend the entire 8-hour GGIA Intermediate Street Gang Investigators Certification Course
Successfully pass the Intermediate Street Gang Investigators Certification test with minimum score of 70%

2023 Annual Summer Gang Conference
The GGIA Board would like to cordially invite you to the 2023 Annual Summer Gang Conference which will be held Athens from July 11 to July 14, 2023, at the Classic Center in Athens, Ga. 30601. This year is extra special as GGIA will also celebrate 25 years of fighting the good fight against gangs.
The conference theme this year will be “Dominion of Destruction” Our agenda will be available in the Spring and will be sent out once all the last of the speakers have confirmed. There will also be s Gangs 101 for new investigators and a GBI Gang Database Class offered on Monday evening, July 10th.
