The Gwinnett County Police Department and the GGIA Board are pleased to announce an intelligence‑sharing session focused on violent supporter groups, gangs, and organized crime that may accompany international teams during the FIFA World Cup.
This session will include a briefing on diplomatic and consular immunity as well as human trafficking indicators, presented by Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent Nico Figueroa.
Attendees will also receive a case study detailing how Georgia’s Gang Act has been applied to a soccer supporter group. In addition, attorneys from the Gwinnett District Attorney’s Drug and Gang Task Force will provide an in‑depth discussion on the advantages and limitations of utilizing the Gang Act and/or RICO in cases involving groups connected to FIFA‑related activity.
This training is open to all law enforcement personnel in the State of Georgia. Attendance is subject to verification, and the organizers reserve the right to limit or deny access as necessary.
